New clinical research unit: Organ dysfunction during systemic inflammation

The German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft – DFG) funds the Clinical Research Unit (CRU) “Organ Dysfunction during Systemic Inflammation” with 4 million euros. The interdisciplinary working group targets sepsis, one of the major causes of death worldwide and will bridge fundamental science with clinical research.
The CRU is headed by Prof. Alexander Zarbock as spokesperson and PD. Dr. Jan Roissant as leader, both from the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine, University Hospital Münster.
